The Sexuality and Health Equity Lab is a research team in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at George Washington University. We use mixed methods (e.g., interviews, focus groups, surveys, experiments) to investigate and address HIV and other health disparities. We partner with community health centers and community-based organizations both domestically and internationally to conduct research that centers racial/ethnic, sexual, and gender minorities along with other socially marginalized, underserved groups. Our work involves developing interventions to combat stigma, improve health messaging, and otherwise promote equitable access to HIV biomedical prevention (e.g., pre-exposure prophylaxis) and other health resources. The lab's diverse and dedicated team is headed by Dr. Sarah K. Calabrese.
