David Kalwicz is currently a fourth year in the clinical psychology doctoral program at GWU. He received his B.A. at American University, where he double majored in Psychology and Applied Statistics. David completed his honors thesis that compared perceptions of indirect bullying against different social minority groups, including bullying about a student’s sexual orientation, religious affiliation, or academic intelligence. Prior to beginning the doctoral program, David worked as a Program Assistant at BroadFutures, a nonprofit internship program that helps neurodivergent young adults transition into working environments.
David's research interests are broadly focused on sexual and gender minority mental and sexual health. Recently, David has focused his research on HIV stigma, U=U messaging, and psychosocial outcomes associated with PrEP. Clinically, his area of work is focused on child and adolescent populations, specifically sexual minorities and transgender/gender-diverse youth.
Research Interests: LGBTQ+ mental and sexual health; sexual stereotypes and stigma; U=U messaging
